Pilates

Proper Strength

Stop Working Out, It Hurts

Lifting weights, doing squats and going to yoga or palates class is putting the cart before the horse. Without proper education of the fundamental Biomechanics and Kinesiology of how the body is in incorectly moving you are doing more harm then good. Just imagine that sore back and achy knees are a result of the body incorrectly moving via compensations due from weakness, not from age. Without correction, all you are doing is strengthening the exact moventings that are causing you pain.

Strong Balance

Don't Fall, It Hurts

You do not have poor Balance!!!! You have Weak Muscles!!! Understanding the principles of body positioning, proprioception, and biomechanics interlaced with strength results in the ability to stabilize in space. If these principles are not refined and improved balance will be achieved but never retained.

Corrective Movement

Don't Move Stupid

Having a million dollar house built on a ten dollar foundation results in a ten dollar house. Kinesiology is the term referring to the whole scholarly area of human movement study, while biomechanics is the study of motion and its causes in living things. With out these two principles the strongest most flexible person is the most frail and injury prone person. Your time and effort is valuable. Make sure you are building your strength, endurance, and increased range of motion with the correct movements that will lead to a better firing sequence of muscles and a better foundation of exercise movements.

Powerful Stretching

Stop Stretching!!!!

You are not tight or stiff because you don't stretch. HUH... The majority of people are "tight" because they are weak not tight. The body guards and protects itself by presenting as tight because it is apprehensive of moving past a certain point. Actually by stretching without proper strength you are increasing your chances of injury by widening the area in which you don't have strength.
